How are ceramic coatings installed?
Applying a ceramic coating is a tedious process that requires meticulous attention to detail.
Below is breakdown of how ceramic coatings are installed.
STEP 1:
Wash and Decontaminate
Proper preparation is required for a quality ceramic coating to bond to the surface. The first step is to perform a triple decontamination process that includes iron remover, clay and a mineral cleanse.
Once the vehicle is properly cleaned, we can thoroughly inspect the condition of the paint. We will then recommend the best course of action that suits your needs.
New or old, your vehicle will have to be polished in order to ensure the surface is perfectly clean before applying a coating. At this step, you can choose to stay with the included paint enhancement or upgrade to a correction that further refines the finish by safely removing deeper imperfections.
Our temperature controlled environment allows our coatings to effectively bond to the surface. This is crucial for long lasting durability. Timing and teamwork is everything during this methodical process. Once applied, we wait 1 hour before it's released into the elements.

We get this question asked a lot! Ceramic coatings have durability ratings as low as a year, to a few years to even the life of the paint! The true durability is dependent on a few factors including how it's installed, how you maintain it, how it's stored and environmental conditions.
There are many techniques to clean and maintain a vehicle, but not all are the same! The best practices to maintain a Remedy ceramic coated vehicle is to hand wash the vehicle with a PH neutral soap, a rinse-less wash or even a waterless wash with proper technique and safe wash media. Although our ceramic coatings have high chemical resistance, it's generally suggested to avoid all tunnel washes and automated car washes.
